ghost in a broken machine

The title of this post is with courtesy to Solarider, Gilbert Ryle and Renè Descartes (what an impressive list! speaking of name dropping)
Actually the title would be more accurate: "A simple mind in a broken machine". A simple mind refers to my ...eeeuuuh simple mind. And the broken machine to my poor body, that is refusing to heal.
After the spring finger operation (still seeing my kineatherapist several times a week), i am now suffering of carpal tunnel syndrome (wrist).
For the moment being i had a cortisone injection, but it will turn out to a new operation (once my rheumatologist is back from his congress).
And next...? probably i will enjoy a tennis elbow, then something with my shoulder and then finally they will do something about my brain!:-)
Can't wait for this last operation.... :-)

It is all in His hands...His play is mysterious. What is He trying to say?

Sadho eh tan mithiya jano

Guru Tegh Bahadur

This body is a lie, O Seers,
The spirit of God within the only truth.
Why do you wallow in sweet illusions,
Why are you attached to worldly possessions
When nothing will go with thee?
Put away all thoughts of praise or blame,
And fix your mind on His glory.
In every heart dwells the Perfect One,
Says Nanak, know him as the Lord.

sooooooo glad to hear from you, ss!
Hope you are fine!

your name is just fine in that list...you have no idea what great ideas you gave to the world.
like eeuuh...bokeh, spin a story, punjabi food, being funny, being thia dear, being humble, being sikh in this world, being you...
and so many other things, now that gives Ryle and Descartes something to think about...

carpal tunnel? bhenji is that a swelling of the vessels in your wrist? My father in law went through something similar - he was diagnosed with polymialgia which is different but has similar symptoms inflamation of nerves etc. I'll try and get some info from him about home treatments - stuff you can use to help relieve symptoms temporarily / side treatment. I'm seeing them over the w/e. Will try to remember.

Take care sweet bhenji.

'kay bhenji, I have three recommendations and they all offer only temporary relief from inflamation.

* tonic water with qunnine
* cinnamon [in your tea / millk]
* cammomile tea

apparently it takes a while for these things to take effect and need to use over a prolonged period. Hope this is of some use.

Satnam!

Thank you, dear sister, i am going to try these remedies for sure. Even when they don't give a permanent solution, at least they give (hopefully) some delay on the operation.
So right away i am going to make some hot milk with cinnamon.
Thank you for the tips!!!!
Hope your weekend was nice...

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that relief has not been a friend. Carpal Tunnel syndrome...maybe you should not be spending much time online! I dunno what helps (except the hugs and teas)...but you'll be in my prayers...wishing you good health and chardi kala!

Please give rest to your fingers, wrist and arm :)

(lots of tight hugs ;))
